Article I of the Constitution dictates the legislative branch of the United States federal government.
The legislative branch, or Congress, consists of two chambers: the House of Representatives and the Senate. The Representatives serve a two-year term, while Senators serve a six-year term, with no term limits.
Congress is responsible for making laws, declaring war, regulating interstate and foreign commerce, and controlling taxing and spending policies.
